What is Linux?
Linux is an operating system just like Windows 7 is. It is the software that runs your computer. The most important thing to know is it doesn't require Windows to run. Linux is it's own product.
Best of all, Linux is FREE! There are many different "flavors" of Linux just like there are flavors of ice-cream. Each one is a little different. Which one is right for you? That depends on your tastes and what you want to do. We recommend CentOS and Debian.
